City Chickens Coop Tour

See how local chickens live and lay in the backyards of Seattle in this a one-day, self-guided tour of chickens and coops in Seattle.

Father & Son at Chicken Tour

This is your chance to talk with the chicken keepers in the city of Seattle about building coops, the varieties of birds they keep and the eggs they provide.  Maybe it will inspire you to finally build that coop you’ve been daydreaming about.

In this self-guided, mapped tour through Seattle neighborhoods of West Seattle, Columbia City, Magnolia, Ballard and Sand Point, you will see simple coops built in an afternoon and elaborate houses that took weeks of planning and building!  You will enjoy seeing the many different varieties of chicken breeds that people keep and learning about these lovely backyard pets.

This is a great tour for family and friends.  A car or strong biking ability is suggested to go from home to home.

Purchase your map in person at the Tilth office through Saturday morning (cash, check or credit card) and in West Seattle at Next To Nature located at 4543 California Ave SW (cash or check only).

When: Jul 12, 2008 from 12:00 pm to 04:00 pm
Where: Seattle Neighborhoods
Cost: $30 per family/carload or $25 for Tilth members.
